LOFT
We were asked by this delightful couple to update their riverside loft for weekend use. In collaboration we designed an open plan kitchen, living and dining area in this very large warehouse loft apartment. Technically a studio, but at over 75sqm it was laid out as a one bedroom apartment; with the bedroom- whilst open - was discreetly tucked away.
The existing kitchen and walls were removed with permission from managing agents and building control, and replaced with a hand built kitchen. An integral down draft cooker hood streamlined the view and the focus was on the clients’ copper antique shades, matched with copper splashbacks. The new bathroom with bath shower over, luxury fittings and fully tiled walls and floor were 5 star luxury.
Storage was required to be built in sympathetically with the listed building requirements and the new bathroom fitted without the need for party wall permission. We incorporated hand built units with mirrored doors to visually widen the corridor and left the views to the river open from front to back of the Loft. New wooden flooring throughout and hidden LED lights and up lights, converted this 80s apartment into a New York 21st century style property.
